Kilikanoon Parable

Deep garnet colored, the 2007 Parable Shiraz gives fragrant, floral notes of dried roses and violets over oolong tea, dried cherry and warm blackberries plus whiffs of licorice and menthol. With a nice juxtaposition between voluptuous, ripe fruit and a solid structure of high acid and firm grainy tannins, it gives a long layered finish. Temptingly forward with ripe, primary flavors that are just starting to evolve, this wine should fan out even more with 2-4 years more in bottle and drink to 2020+. Each year Wine Access receives thousands of wines to be tasted but
only 101 make the end of the year list. This year Coyam 2007 and Gê
2006 were classified with 93 points each placing them at 16th and
18th place respectively on the list, making them the only Chilean
wines in the top 50 of the year.
This reinforces the fact that Emiliana has a great passion for
producing wines of the highest quality with a sustainable, organic,
and biodynamic agriculture which is the best way to achieve more
balanced and healthier vineyards, bringing forth better quality grapes
and therefore wine. This passion presents itself in Coyam and Gê, so

Very good value in a mid-week sipping white. The Lurton family has deep roots in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, where most of Bordeaux’s less expensive sauvignon is grown. This straight-up 100% sauvignon without oak ageing. It has a pure nose of gooseberry, almost tropical guava-green banana fruit and lemongrass. It’s soft and fleshy yet still fresh and lively
with a hint of lime and salty minerality on the finish. Chill it well.

Rich and powerful in both fruit flavour and palate persistence the ‘Killerman’s Run’ Shiraz offers outstanding value to those seeking a wine that will accompany a range of meats and fine foods. Small batches of Shiraz were selected from a range of premium South Australian vineyards then vinified by traditional winemaking methods and matured for up to two years in small French and American oak casks before careful blending and bottling unfiltered

Appearance: Intense brick red in colour with youthful crimson hues.

Nose: Ripe, bold and lifted Shiraz flavours predominate the nose with rich plum fruits and mocha supported by the French and American oak.

Palate: A sweet mid palate, soft tannins and warmth of character have created a wine with both power and finesse. This wine was made to showcase the unique flavours of Shiraz, the palate tends to be fruit driven but balanced and lengthened by older oak flavours.

Kumkani Shiraz 2005

Vinification
Cold soaked for four days prior to fermentation. Fermented cool (22 – 26 °C) with selected imported yeast. Five day maturation on skins post fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in barrel. 24 months in 70% French and 30% American 300-litre barrels.

Tasting notes
This Shiraz has complex aromas of bright ripe black summer fruit warm earth and spicy mountain herbs. It has ripe berry spice and vanilla flavours and a long satisfying finish.

Tasting Note
Remarkably light ruby colour leads to a refined, almost elegant nose of plum, new leather and sour cherry. Dry and quite fresh, with fine fruit and moderate tannins bringing it all into a very pleasing balance. This is not a fruit bomb, nor is it a shrinking violet. It’s a vibrant and refreshing Zinfandel that will reward 2-4 years in a cellar, or have it tonight with rare roast beef with grilled root vegetables. (VINTAGES panel, July 2010)
